As in the last TRD, this was a book that came in one of my Book Riot boxes. I was horrible at keeping up with these, and I cannot remember which one it was to save my life. But I’ve had it hanging around in my TBR pile for awhile now, and I finally dove into it. I tore through it in just four days; I even took it to work one day to read on my lunch break. It’s good, y’all.

Friday Reads: How to Read Three Books at Once

A wild RECURRING POST appears! (Hint: Use FOLLOW, it’s super effective)

Bailey Poland, author ofย Haters: Harassment, Abuse, and Violence Online, does a weekly #fridayreads on Twitter, and I love following it. She RTs dozens of really interesting-sounding books every week, which is good for my reading horizons but bad for my TBR list, bookshelves, and wallet. (Full disclosure: I have not yet read Poland’s book.)

So, in the spirit of creating More Content, I’d like to start a weekly Friday Reads post of my own. Now that I’ve moved Tuesday Reviews Day to every-other-week, it’s much easier to stay ahead of schedule on reviews, but it makes it a bit harder to share what I’m reading with you in real time. I do have the Goodreads widget in the left rail, but this will give me a chance to expand on that a little more, without making you wait weeks for a full review.

Tuesday Reviews Day: We Are the Ants, Shaun David Hutchinson

This book came in one of my Book Riot boxes, one of those I used to sub to that came with three books four times a year and somehow, I never seemed able to keep up with them. I’ve been wanting to read this book for awhile now and finally, I’ve gotten around to it. This book was …. well, it was definitely worth the wait, and yet I wish I’d read it twenty times by now.

Aside

Ch-ch-ch-changes

I really would like to get into a more permanent rhythm, and posting reviews every week just ends up getting out of hand, especially once I start classes back in the fall. (Just a few weeks to go now; yikes!!)

In that spirit, Tuesday Reviews Day will be every other week, while I try that on for size and see how it works. There won’t be a review post tomorrow, but I already have one scheduled for next Tuesday, and I think y’all are going to love it.

Also next Tuesday is my first-ever surgery; it’s minor and none of the doctors seem worried, but I’m a professional worrywart and I am doing my thing! So if you can spare a few kind thoughts or prayers or whatever you’re into, please send some my way next Tuesday; I could really use ’em! Love y’all.

Tuesday Reviews Day: Saints and Misfits, S.K. Ali

I’m addicted to books. I think everyone knows that by now, and I’m sure many of you can relate. The more books I can get my hands on, the better. I’m on my 3rd book box subscription (no, not all at the same time) and I think I might have landed on one I’m really going to love, but the jury’s going to stay out at least until I get Box #02, if not even Box #03.
